I'm being bitchy

Okay, I am getting sick and tired of people stealing shit from my work place.

Tonight we had this rather flamboyant gay man come in with a girl and they stole a bunch of candy and makeup.  Mainly him, she didn't steal anything that we managed to get on camera.  Him, blatant stealing.  We caught it on camera, I almost managed to catch him, would have to if I hadn't been at the register.  He's already been banned from one of our stores, he will be banned from this one but it's seriously pissing me off right now.  And seriously?  How obvious can you be?

We have another couple that comes in with their baby and stuffs the baby bag full of things.  Then they check out.  These people have been banned finally but they have some kahunas.  They stole a magazine and a pack of e-cigarettes, from the register area, while my back was turned ringing up another customer.  I was literally five feet from them, and had I turned at that point I would have seen them take the pack from the shelf.

We had one manager walk out arguing with a woman because she stuffed her (previously empty) purse full of our merchandise was trying to get her to come back into the store.  Our manager managed to get a look inside the bag of unpaid stuff when this woman dropped her purse in her car and was only then, legally able to force the woman back into the store and call the cops on her.  She had over $300 worth of makeup, hygiene supplies, and random shit that she had stolen stuffed in her purse.

I cannot see someone walk into the store anymore with a large purse and not try to watch them anymore because women with those kinds of purses are the ones that steal.  No not all of them, but enough that I start mentally keeping an eye on bags to see if they get any bigger as they're wandering around the store.

And to anyone who thinks that getting a five-fingered discount is okay: It is not okay.  For every bit that you steal that is money out of the company's payroll which means that takes away hours I could be working.  I'm a broke college student, I need to save my money and the place where I'm working at has had to cut hours several time.  I make $7.50 and hour.  Every $7.50 that is stolen from the company, is one hour that I cannot work.

Think about that.

Every $7.25 (which is minimum wage) that is stolen, is one hour stolen from a worker.

When you steal, you are stealing people's hours, money from their paychecks, and thusly food that they could be buying, rent they could be paying, clothes for their kids, tuition from students, etc.

So don't steal or so help me I will knock some heads.
