It's true! I decided that I was going to put my graphic design skills to good use and opened a shop in Society6. Please go give it a look. I'll post the images here of course but to see actual products, you'll have to go check out the link. My art is on everything from regular art prints, to home decor, office supplies, to furniture. I won't post everything but here's a few things below that look nice:

So I logged on this morning and had a message in my inbox that "someone was talking about me".  Which is a little confusing as I'm nearly never on this site anymore and I can't think of very many people who would be talking about me (most people I know personally haven't been on in forever and the rest don't care?).  So I follow the link and someone who's been on the site for a week (according to their profile) took a screen shot of a thread I made in January 2013 in which I complained about bras.  Which I still have the same opinion of - I hate trying to shop for bras, I much prefer corsets now.  Also I didn't get KaizenKitty 's note mentioning me until after the thread had closed.

Nothing bad was said on either party.  I think one person in the replies called me a whiner but this is the internet and that's a thing that happens; and also they had a little winky face so it may not have been a serious thing anyways?.  More than anything I'm just confused as to why someone would take pictures of it.  Recent pictures too because the screenshots have my current avatar in the thread.

Also I don't particularly mind if you take super old screenshots of my old threads but...I haven't posted anything in the forums for several years now.  My opinions may have changed so if someone digs up something from 5+ years ago please take whatever college me said with a grain of salt.

So I can't get CS5 on my new computer.  Apparently the serial number I had was a bootlegged one and it won't accept it again (admittedly, I probably should have been suspicious about that when I downloaded it but I was really hoping) so I've been looking for a free and/or cheap digital painting program that I can purchase 1 copy of and not have to do some form of bullshit subscription program.  Found a program called Krita and it works really well...once I figured out how it works with a tablet.  Took me forever to get pressure sensitivity to work and my Wacom - which hated my old laptop - apparently hates my new desktop computer as well (real talk - I am never buying another wacom again, it is bullshit how often I have to restart the drivers/drawing program/the computer just to get it to work normally).  Finally got mouse mode and pressure sensitivity to work.

Then I opened the program.  After fighting with the program for 20 minutes, fighting with the table properties for some amount of time, and combing through Google to figure out why I can't get my tablet to use the mouse mode in Krita instead of pen mode I find a few posts addressing it.  Krita doesn't support mouse mode for your tablet.  And according to more than one post I found (none from this year, can't find anything about it 2017-2018) that Krita will not be supporting mouse mode unless someone makes a patch for it (it's an open source program).

I literally just spent over an hour trying to get my tablet to work in a manner that is not going to piss me off and there is nothing I can do about it.  Program draws really well.  Great line quality, interesting color selector.  It just only supports pen mode and especially since I have a small tablet I can't with it.  When you have the stylus against your tablet and moving - perfect lines.  Perfect quality.  If you pick up your stylus and try to move it?  Your brush is gonna go fucking everywhere.  Not even necessarily because pen mode is an absolute point kind of system, the cursor will literally randomly jump off canvas to other shit on the other side of my screen with barely any movement on my part.

I'm going to uninstall it.  I have spent more than an hour on a blank canvas just trying to get my tablet to a point that I can comfortably draw and at this point I'm so pissed off about it that I have a headache and I'm just done.  If you like using pen mode when you draw and can figure out the random cursor shooting to random spots on your screen - then I can recommend it.  Otherwise, I honestly wouldn't bother with this program.

Guess who got a new computer that seems to work with the tablet?  Guess who's CS5 won't transfer to the new computer?  Yep.  SO I get to go hunting around for a new digital painting program as I legitimately cannot figure out how to get CS5 on this new computer.  Adobe won't let me download my copy directly from the site.

Musings

I have been hella dead on this site and I do apologize for it but recently, as in the past year or two (maybe even longer), I realized I just don't get as much enjoyment out of drawing as I used to.  It's been a long time since I've really done anything that I'm really proud of.  I still can't draw my characters consistently, I've lost my watercolors along with most of my paintbrushes, my oil paints have their lids dried on and I can't open them, I bought some sculpty to see if I could get back the desire to make clay items (I used to make such pretty flowers in ceramics) but I'm just...meh about it.

I have a new-found love of writing though.  Getting so close to finishing that one project with Kyonetsu before that ended really reminded me of why I liked writing so much in high school.  Granted my stuff in high school was absolute crap but I've really thrown myself into my old Fanar story, completely revamped it, and it's probably about half-way done with the rough draft.  I printed what I have out and turned it over to a friend who said she was interested in going through and helping me edit and flesh it out.  I'm settling into a writing style that seems to be working for me and I'm actually liking where my story is going.  So as much as drawing used to be my love, y'all may not see me much at all on this site in the future.  I may post doodles and drabbles now and then but since it takes me so long to actually write something (and heaven knows how different it'll look after) I probably will not be sharing the novels I write on here.

I'll still try to update here now and then, but for the most part y'all won't see a lot of me on your dash.
